A Father Buys Personalized Number Plate for £26,000 for his Daughter

Father-daughter relationship is very special and we do know fathers usually indulge daughters a lot. But 41 year old Harbhajan Bains from Sutton Coldfield has created news by buying a personalized number plate for £26,000 in an auction for his eleven year old daughter. He bought the number plate at one of the DVLA Personalized Registrations auction which is held six times a year in Great Britain.

Collecting number private registrations seems to be a passion for this man and apparently he has a collection of some 25 such plates. So his purchase of a number plate “99 A” depicting his daughter’s year of birth and her initial not surprising but price he shelled out has caught a lot of attention. In fact he sees it as a superb investment, for these personalized number plates have huge demands and their value too goes up with time. It is ironical that in a world which is increasingly becoming globalized, personalized registrations, cell numbers, domain names etc. are becoming so exclusive and expensive.

So if you have dollars and pounds to spare and you think your near and dear ones deserve such extravagant gifts then do check out next auction of DVLA at Ardencote Manor Hotel and Country Club, Warwick to be held first week of December.

Toyota iQ Disco Dazzles You With Its Looks

Now this is one shiny car man! The Toyota iQ Disco is surely taking inspiration from the shiny disco ball. If there was any car made that would be perfect to ride to a disco, this would be it for sure. Made exclusively for the European markets, this car is all ‘discoed’ up not just in terms of its look. This one has the music too. Installed with a professional DJ sound system, you could surely get into the mood for some partying while you are driving itself.

It has a fully powered subwoofer / satellite speaker-system along with a 15-inch bass reflex subwoofer, a 2-channel mixer and two Numark NDX 800 players. So you see your only problem would be to control yourself from being carried away. You might be wondering about its sparkly surface. This has been achieved by placing mirror platelets with great care. It’s blinging up process is complete with 18″ alloy wheels and scissors doors.

Powered by a 1.33-liter Dual VVT-i petrol engine capable of churning out 98 HP, the iQ disco will sure be a showstopper when it is showcased at the upcoming, the “Cologne Rocks” event in Köln, Germany. Though I am not too much for the whole blinging up thing, but this one dosent seem so bad.

Toyota’s Lexus LFA sold out before even hitting the markets

I am sure the people at Toyota are very very happy. At a time when most car companies are finding it hard to maintain their business, Toyota’s latest offering, the Lexus LFA , has sold out! And that too before even hitting the market! The company had planned to bring out this model in a limited edition, with just 20 cars made every month at their Motomachi plant in Tokyo, and 500 makes in total.

The majority (about one third) orders have come from Germany. Considering that the Germans themselves make the best cars, I am guessing that they also know a good car when they see it. The US customers it seems will have to wait for it as there is some rule about leasing the car for two years before one can buy it.

Aside from the amazing looks, this car boasts of equally amazing technical features as well. It is a 552 horsepower mean machine that runs on a 4.8 litre V10 engine. Offering a top speed of 202mph, the car can accelerate from 0 to 62mph in a mere 3.7 seconds! The LFA costs $375,000, and it’s popularity might be used by Toyota to penetrate the European markets.

Veyron 16.4 Super Sport, The New Bugatti Showstealer

Bugatti is back and raring to go. The all new Veyron 16.4 Super Sport finally got added to the impressive Veyron lineup. The sexy roadster comes charged with 1200 horsepower under its hood and a torque that smoothly increases up to 1,106 pound feet.

That is just the tip of the technical spec iceberg. We are told there is an aerodynamic kit in the new Veyron which helps keep a perfect balance in every traffic situation. The four turbochargers are enlarged with even bigger intercoolers that work wonders in boosting the power of the 16-cylinder engine. Experts say that these upgrades are capable of pushing the car from 0 to 100 km/h in a matter of 2.2 seconds. The top speed is 425 km/h.

It will be August by the time the new Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport will make its official debut at the Pebble Beach Concours. This one is gonna be a limited edition with only 30 units hitting production, all in a special black exposed carbon and orange finish. It costs a huge $2.4 million. Here is a little encouragement. We are told that the brand Bugatti has sold 260 Veyrons and 35 Grand Sports by now, of which 249 Veyrons and 22 Grand Sports had been delivered.

Wiesmann MF5 Blows You Away by Its Retro Look

I was simply blown away by the look of this car. I know it is probably not the most macho looking car, and that I guess is a big criteria for guys, but its design and color is definitely quite interesting. It has that retro look, plus a gloss that will definitely make heads turn in appreciation.

Not that you would take such a precious car on the road all too often. But when you buy something so expensive as I am sure this car is, you feel like flaunting it at times. Called the Wiesmann MF5, this car will borrow BMW M5 and M6’s award winning V10 engine. So the car has got the looks and the power as well! But I have some bad news. The next generation M models are moving away from the gas-guzzling V10 to a more eco-friendly and pocket friendly twin turbo V8 engines.

So that means that Wiesmann might have to change its production as well. But thankfully Wiesmann is saying that it will continue to manufacture this car. The only difference now will be the engine. Not so bad, as the V8 engine isn’t all too bad as well. Plus the built and finish will remain the same.

Doubters Question the Scheduled Release of DiMoras $2 Million Car

Doubters Question the Scheduled Release of DiMoras $2 Million Car
DiMora Motorcar, based in Palm Springs, California has been working on a wonder car for the last three and a half years. Though a lot of people are of the opinion that the car will never be made but it is scheduled for a 2012 release and if it does it will be the most expensive production car. If the car ever gets made it will be a marriage of science fiction and reality.

It is proposed to be a four-door sedan with a staggering $2 million sticker price, 16-speed transmission, top speed of 270 mph and a chassis made out of biodegradable lava rock. The paint job will change according to the temperature. It will have tint control windows and leather seats that stay cool even in hot climes.

Currently, the world’s most expensive production car is the Bugatti Veyron 16.4, a 1,000-horsepower coupe with a top speed of 267 mph that retails for $1.7 million. It might remain the most expensive car for some time as some analysts feel that the DiMora car might remain a car that every one has heard about but no one’s really seen. They point out that cars like this exist entirely in the twisted minds of their creators. Though Alfred DiMora sounds very confident about the project and claims it is on track.
